Establishment ceremony of the Hidaya Endowment Foundation at Oman Convention and Exhibition Center
The “Hidaya Endowment Foundation” was officially launched today at the Oman Convention and Exhibition Center under the patronage of H.E. Abdul Salam bin Mohammed Al Murshidi, Chairman of the Oman Investment Authority. The foundation aims to establish sustainable financial resources to support initiatives that promote awareness of Islam and cultural exchange, fostering development through community and institutional partnerships.
The foundation seeks to establish an endowment fund dedicated to:
Supporting programs that introduce the true essence of Islam to non-Muslims.
Promoting cultural exchange initiatives by highlighting Omani civilization and enhancing scientific communication among nations and societies.
Providing care and support for new Muslims through various activities and events, such as the annual “Taaruf” (Introduction) event.
Key Remarks by Abdulrahman bin Ahmed Al-Khalili, Chairman of the Foundation:
In his speech, Al-Khalili emphasized that the foundation’s mission revolves around two key aspects:
Islamic Awareness: Presenting the true message of Islam to non-Muslims residing in or visiting Oman and supporting new Muslims through educational programs and social activities.
Promoting Omani Civilization: Showcasing Oman’s rich heritage globally by strengthening scientific and cultural ties with educational institutions and research centers.
He further highlighted that Oman’s political stances, historically and in the present, have always been aligned with justice and the support of the oppressed. This has drawn global interest toward Oman, making it essential to provide researchers and scholars with access to authentic information about the country’s intellectual and historical depth.
Al-Khalili reaffirmed that the foundation is committed to ensuring sustainable financial support by partnering with the community, both individuals and institutions. He also stressed the importance of collaboration between public and private sector institutions and the contributions of philanthropists in reviving the historical role of endowments.
